Managing Director's Office,

Canton,

4th October, 1928.

Sir,

In reply to your letter No.654 of the 1st

instant, I have the honour to inform you that your 30 ton

Open Goods Wagon No.71, which was derailed and thrown into Sien Tsun creek during military operations on November 1923, has been salvaged recently and is now under repairs

by the Mun Hing Quarry Company for the transportation of

stones. The wood work of this wagon has been completely

rotted and the iron work is so badly corroded and that, even under most favourable circumstances, will only be fit

for stone traffic. If you should care to quote a very reasonable figure for this wagon, taking into consideration

of the depreciation for the time the wagon was in use on your section prior to the accident, this section shall be

glad to consider your offer.

I have, &c.,

(Sd.) M. Lao,

Managing Director.
